Choosing the right school for your child is a big decision for you and your family to make. At Whitstable Junior School we will do everything we can to show you all the amazing things that make us ‘us’ and the many fantastic opportunities your child will have if they join our wonderful school!

We want to work really closely with you to make starting Junior school as special and memorable as possible. You and your child deserve, and will definitely experience, the best possible education here at Whitstable Junior School.

The application process for entry to primary school opens on Friday 6th November 2026..  If you would like to book a tour to see our school, please call the school office on 01227 272385. I will be very happy to show you round our fabulous school.

Once you have made your decision about which school you would like to apply for, applications for a Year 3 place can be made through the Kent County Council applications online.  For those parents who do not have access to the internet, a copy of the application form can be obtained from the school.  

2027 applications INFORMATION FROM KCC WEBSITE

Applications for transfer to primary school for both reception year and year 3 (junior school) in September 2027 will open on Friday 6th November 2026 and close on Friday 15th January 2027.

If you provide an email address on your application, KCC will email you on Friday 16th April 2027 after 4pm to tell you which school you have been offered.

Or view your offer online from 5pm on Friday 16th April 2027.

You can apply for up to 3 schools, putting them in order of preference. It's in your best interest to list 3 schools. Naming only one school does not guarantee your child a place at that school or give your child priority for a place over another child. You are not able to name the same school more than once.

To apply to a school outside of Kent, name the school in your application along with your other preferences. Your application details will be passed on to the relevant local authority for processing.
